Kindergarten Curriculum Overview

Our Kindergarten curriculum at Raudatul Atfaal is designed to support comprehensive child development by aligning with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) while integrating Islamic values across all learning domains. This approach nurtures students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth, setting a foundation for lifelong learning within an Islamic framework. Our Kindergartener curriculum is based on hands on learning.

1. Language & Literacy

  • Objectives: Advance early literacy by building on phonemic awareness, sight words, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Highlights:
    • Phonemic awareness.
    • Build a strong reading foundation by learning sight words, CVC words, blends, diagraphs.
    • Learning to write by forming simple sentences.

2. Mathematics

  • Objectives: Develop foundational math skills, including number sense, cognitive skills, and simple problem-solving.
  • Highlights:
    • Mathematics and geometric learning using different manipulatives.
    • Introduction to classification, learning patterns, simple addition and subtraction etc.

3. Quran/Qayda

  • Objectives: Introduce students to reading the Quran by first ensuring they master the Qayda
